Scarborough: Signed Print £75.00

About: Kane Cunningham

Scarborough is famous throughout the world as a seaside resort and holiday destination. The original painting was painted late afternoon when the sun was setting over the Grand Hotel and Scarborough Castle. Kane said, ‘The painting was inspired by JMW Turner and his view of Scarborough. The setting sun illuminated the tips of the buildings putting into shadow the Old Town and seafront. I was standing at Holbeck in the South Bay and painting quickly to capture the light. It was one of those paintings where speed and spontaneity were essential in capturing the moment’.
