Whitby from Sandsend - North Yorkshire: Signed Print £175.00
About: Kane Cunningham
Whitby is a seaside town, port and civil parish in the Scarborough borough of North Yorkshire, England. Situated on the east coast of Yorkshire at the mouth of the River Esk. Here Captain Cook set off to travel around the world on HMS Endeavour. Bram Stoker stayed here and was inspired to write the novel Dracula. Whitby Abbey stands proud on the southside of the river which creates an impressive silhouette and shadow on the old town as the sun rises in the morning. Kane said, ‘Whitby is one of my favourite locations to visit and to paint. I have been taking my family here on holiday for over 35 years. The painting from Sandsend was painted on a day when the sun was rising and illuminating the sky, clouds and still sea. People were walking their dogs, running and taking an early morning stroll, all adding to the magic of a beautiful location full of family memories and stories to tell’.
